She won’t rest until she’s sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever.
Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.
Her father was right. The monsters are real…
To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies….
I like Showalter’s idea of the zombies because they are not just the regular walking dead. They only come out at night and not everyone can see them. It makes Alice in Zombieland fit more in real life because most people, like us, don’t know they exist.
I admire how Alice (Ali) is willing to put herself in dangerous paths to fight the zombies and avenge her family. There is also her determination and courage, which make her wants to avenge her family and keep the people she cares about safe. Plus, she is not afraid of anything or anyone, and she is willing to fight in order to rid the world of the zombies. Ali’s abilities are above and beyond what the other zombie slayers can do. I can’t wait to find out more about her abilities and why she can see zombies in the first place.
I especially love the romance. Cole is strong, mysterious, and dangeorus, the typical sexy bad boy. Nevertheless, he is very protective and kind. He is also the top zombie slayer and will do anything he can to protect the ones he loves, especially Ali. Despite his forceful personality, Ali always stands her ground and won’t allow Cole to tell her what to do. Cole and Ali have a very special and deep connection even though we still do not know the reason. I can’t wait to find out what hapens between them.
I also have to give special mention to Ali’s best friend Kat. She’s fearless, and she is always there supporting Alice. Kat is the kind of friend you want. Her on and off relationship with Frosty is highly entertaining. Kate is always pushing, and Frosty is always pulling. Also, there are Nana and Pops. They are extremely amusing. I love the interrogation they give when Ali has a boy come over.
Alice in Zombieland is an amazing adventure you don’t want to miss out. I enjoy the story and look forward to the next book.
