The Peculiar Possom has every that I’ve loved from the first books in the Nocturnals Early Reader series. I’m a huge fan of the series and am always delighted to get a Nocturnals book in the mail!
5 Reasons to Read The Peculiar Possom
- Animal protagonists: I LOVED animals growing up (and still do) and am always delighted to find a good book that features animals prominently.
- Lively dialogue: The dialogue is especially entertaining where Bismarck is concerned. He is a chatterbox and often talks himself into trouble, but he has a good heart and will repent when he is in the wrong (oftentimes with prodding from his friends).
- Model friendships: The Nocturnals are quick to support each other, but they will also let each other know when they did something wrong and provide guidance on how to correct the error.
- Fun facts: I’m a lifelong learner. I love the fun facts section in the back of the books because they give me the chance to learn more about the topics and ideas that come up in the book.
- An endearing cast with episodic adventures: The Nocturnals are a wonderful group of characters. The episodic format of the books makes it easy to jump into this book without having read the first books. (Though I highly recommend them because I love them so much!)
Overall, this was another fantastic read in the Nocturnals Early Reader series. I look forward to seeing what Trachey Hecht and the team at Fabled Films Press come up with next!
