I’m very excited to be a guest here today and to share with you my dream movie cast for my novel Life on the Edge. Here’s a quick blurb about the book to give you an idea of the story: Nineteen-year-old Emily is new to pairs skating, but she and her partner Chris have a big dream–to be the first American team to win Olympic gold. Their young coach Sergei, who left Russia after a mysterious end to his skating career, believes they can break through and make history. Emily and Chris are on track to be top contenders at the 2002 Winter Games. But when forbidden feelings spark between Emily and Sergei, broken trust and an unexpected enemy threaten to derail Emily’s dreams of gold.
Kimberly Matula Photo from IMDB |
My choice to play the protagonist Emily is Kimberly Matula, who currently stars on the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. When I saw Kim on my television one day, I immediately pictured her in the role of Emily. She fits the look perfectly with her dark blond hair and big blue eyes. Also, the character Kim plays on the soap has similar principles to Emily, so I think she’d be able to nail Emily’s character!
Josh Dallas Photo from IMDB |
For the leading man Sergei, I’d cast Josh Dallas, who plays Prince Charming on the TV show Once Upon a Time. He has the captivating blue eyes, the golden brown hair, the deep sexy voice, and the perfect lean and muscular build. He has “hero” written all over him. I bet he could do a great Russian accent, too!
Adam Gregory Photo from IMDB |
My choice for Emily’s partner Chris is Adam Gregory, who also stars on The Bold and the Beautiful. He previously had a role on 90210. Tall and good-looking with thick dark hair–exactly what I’m looking for!
Ashely Benson Photo from IMDB |
In my dream cast, Emily’s best friend Aubrey would be played by Ashley Benson from the TV show Pretty Little Liars. She has the required beautiful long, blond locks and pretty eyes. I also think Ashley could pull off Aubrey’s sassy attitude.
Emmy Rossum Photo from IMDB |
For Emily’s other friend Marley, I’d choose Emmy Rossum, known most for her roles in the movies The Phantom of the Opera and The Day After Tomorrow. Her big brown eyes and innocent look work well for the image I’ve created of Marley.
I hope you’ll check out Life on the Edge and let me know if you like my casting choices!
About Jennifer:
Jennifer Comeaux earned a Master of Accounting from Tulane University and is a Certified Public Accountant in south Louisiana. While working in the corporate world, she sought a creative outlet and decided to put on paper a story that had played in her head for years. That story became her first published novel, a sweet romance between a figure skater and her coach. When not working or writing, she is an avid follower of the sport of figure skating, travelling to competitions around the country. Those experiences allow her to see another side of the sport and serve as an inspiration for her writing. Jennifer is blessed with a wonderful family and many friends who have encouraged her to pursue her dream of being a published author.

Isn't picking out people to play your favorite characters fun? I do it all the time. Even if the books I love aren't being made into movies. lol

I'm not great at casting but I am curious to see authors or other readers do the casting. Josh Dallas fits the role of any leading man! He's fantastic in Once Upon a Time.
