What if there were teens whose lives depended on being bad influences? This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels in Sweet Evil.
Tenderhearted Southern girl, Anna Whitt, was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. Sheโs aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isnโt until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage, and her will-power is put to the test. Heโs the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.
Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?
Sweet Evil takes a unique twist on angel mythology. Where did you come up with this idea?
I borrowed ideas from Biblical lore, as far as the idea of Lucifer deceiving people, and demons being his minions. I remember being really intrigued by the charm of Lucifer in Paradise Lost by John Milton. And then I just kind of ran with it and made stuff up as I went. It was fun to have free reign with the angel hierarchy.
Sounds like fun! What is a day of writing like for you?
I try to write/edit/revise/critique on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings for two hours while my kids are in school, and then again at night for a couple hours after they go to bed. It ends up being not much time, so I really have to be disciplined. It’s hard.
Your efforts really paid off though. I LOVE Sweet Evil and so does everyone I’ve shared it with. I can’t wait to see where you take us next. Who was your favorite character to write about?
Each character had their own appeal, and I came to feel for them all. But I’d say Kaidan was the biggest challenge – he really pushed my limits as a writer, trying to balance the tension, and I loved that about him.
Kaidan is one of my favorite characters. I enjoyed the banter between him and Anna during their road trip. One of these days, I need to trace their route. Where on Anna and Kaidan’s road trip would you like to visit?
I’ve done that same road trip…well, not with a hot boy, just with my family, lol. But I went from coast to coast, and I loved the Southwest. I would love to go back someday and see the Grand Canyon again.
They certainly took a scenic route. I haven’t been to the Grand Canyon yet, and I plan on righting this… one day! Anna gets a hot makeover. What advice do you have for someone who wants to rock Anna’s new look when she returns for the new school year?
It’s all about highlights, baby, haha.
I got temporary pink highlights before. Does that count, LOL? If you could hang out with one of the Sweet Evil characters for a day, who would it be and what would you do?
We don’t get to see much of Blake in book one, but there’s more of him in book two and he’s super fun. I’d love to have a night out on the town with him. ๐
Fun characters win. I’m excited to see more of Blake! Angels and demons, and I see from your site that you have a book with leprachauns. What next?
Next I pass out! Seriously though, the leprechaun book needs a major revision, and then I’d love to sub it. And my mind right now is mostly focused on revising the sequel to Sweet Evil and starting the third and final book. I have no idea what might be after that.
Second book! Me want!!! Anything else you’d like to add?
Thanks for having me on your blog, which is very cute by the way. People are more than welcome to contact me if they have any questions. Big hugs, y’all.
